If you are unsure as to which spray tan you should book, here are a few questions to ask yourself:

  • How much time do I have to allow my spray tan to dry fully? If you are in a time crunch, then we suggest the rapid solution.

  • Are you DHA resistant? If so, then the rapid solution will adhere to your skin better to avoid streaks and splotches.

  • How dark am I trying to get? Either spray tan will work, but we suggest leaving it on for the maximum time to achieve the best results.

What does it mean to be DHA resistant and how do I know if I am?

If you are naturally fair skinned and have had spray tans before with little to no color change, then you are most-likely DHA resistant.

DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) is the active ingredient in a standard spray tanning solution and is the reason your skin turns brown from a spray tan. DHA reacts chemically with the amino acids in the skin, and different amino acids can react differently to DHA producing different tones of coloration.

So if you are DHA resistant, your skin will not hold color as strong. We suggest if you are fair skinned to start with the rapid solution. If you try the standard solution and see little to no color change, then your next session we will switch to our rapid tanning solution.

Other services we offer to benefit your spray tan are facial spray tans ($5) which is great to get a touch up a few days after your initial spray tan as wearing makeup and washing the face will cause the tan to fade faster.

We also offer a Body Buffing Exfoliating Treatment ($15) which removes the last bit of spray tan that was not exfoliated off after your last session. We recommend this treatment once a month for creating a fresh, clean, exfoliated canvas for the most spray tan possible.
