Extensions.
Expert eyelash extensions, lash rehabilitation, and a proprietary allergy protocol. From first-time clients to damage recovery, there's a path for you at The Bronze Lily.
Where it all began…
Eight Years. One Artist.
Lash extensions at The Bronze Lily are semi-permanent eyelash extensions applied one-by-one in St. Petersburg, Florida, by licensed lash artists. Three core extension styles — Classic, Volume & Hybrid, and Mega Volume — plus Lash Lift and Lash Removal. Every set is performed in a private suite within our 1920s home studio.
After eight years lashing Monday through Thursday from 7am past bookable hours, Larae has built and signed off on a small team trained directly under her protocols. Elyssa brings six years of her own experience. Lauren is our apprentice, new but quickly honing her skills under direct mentorship. Every set in this studio meets the same standard, regardless of who's behind the tweezers.
We're known for two specialties most studios don't offer.
Lash rehabilitation. Clients come to us with brittle, sparse, or weakened natural lashes from aggressive removal, improper isolation and separation, over-adhesive usage, or fans too heavy for the natural lash. We don't judge. We heal.
Our proprietary allergy protocol. Designed for clients who thought they could never wear extensions again. Using a sensitive adhesive and our pre and post allergy protocol products — plus knowing how to direct a client to prep for their appointment and what to do after the application — we've opened the door to beautiful lashes for people previously told their lash extension days were over.

What makes our lash work
Custom Mapping
Drawn to your eye shape
Every set starts with a custom map drawn to your eye shape and natural lash pattern. Length, curl, and density change across the lash line — we don't apply a single style across the lid. The map is what makes the difference between "lashes" and lashes that look like they grew in.
A trained artist roster
Larae · Elyssa · Lauren
Performed in a private suite by Larae (8 yrs), Elyssa (6 yrs), or Lauren (apprentice). Every artist trained directly under Larae's protocols — isolation, weight, mapping, retention — so the standard holds whether you book the founder or her team.
Honest retention
Adhesive matched to humidity
We use medical-grade adhesive selected per client and per humidity — Florida summers and winters are not the same lash environment. We won't sell you a 4-week fill window if your lashes need a 2-week visit. Your set is built to hold.
Lash rehab
When other artists
When lashes are damaged by other lash artists, the protocol changes. Larae approaches each rehabilitation case with three core principles:
Patience.
Damaged lashes require a slower timeline and more precision. We start by removing whatever is clumped, outgrown, stuck together, in the wrong position, or too heavy for the natural lash — always done by hand using our banana peel method, one lash at a time, with zero chemical remover near the eye. Then we'll refill with lighter fans or classic extensions applied only to the healthiest natural lashes. We don't rush recovery. The artist moves slower, with more precision, and treats every lash with care.
Customization.
Every recovery plan is built around the lashes you have today, not the set you used to wear. We may adjust curl, length, or density to protect what's regrowing. The goal is health first — the look comes back as the lashes do.
Education.
You'll leave understanding how to care for your recovering lashes — and what to avoid next time. We may recommend a lash serum to aid in growth and rehabilitation. This is a process where we worry less about retention and more about growth.
Important: We never perform a lash lift on a client whose lashes are damaged from a previous lift OR from extensions. It would only cause more damage. The lift waits until the natural lashes have recovered.
Eight years of successful rehabilitations. Larae has restored confidence to clients across the Tampa Bay area who believed their lash extension days were over.

A proprietary
allergy protocol.
If you've ever had an allergic reaction to lash extensions — itching, swelling, redness — we have a path for you. Our protocol is designed specifically for clients who thought their lash days were over.
01 · Pre-appointment prep.
We'll guide you on what to take and do in the days leading up to your appointment to minimize reaction risk. Customized to your reaction history and what your body has tolerated in the past.
02 · Sensitive adhesive + tape.
We use a low-fume, medical-grade sensitive adhesive selected for allergy-prone clients, plus sensitive lash tape designed for delicate skin. Soft lash styles recommended — they require less adhesive for application.
03 · Slower application + bond sealant.
We apply extensions with extra time between each one, allowing adhesive fumes to dissipate more naturally. After application, a bond sealant cures the adhesive instantly and eliminates lingering fumes.
04 · Pre + post protocol products.
Our proprietary allergy products are used in salon during application. We'll send you home with aftercare guidance customized to your skin and reaction history — sometimes including products to use at home in the days after.
New · Try the protocol first — complimentary patch test.
Not sure how your eyes will respond? Book our free 15-minute Patch Lash Extension Test. We cleanse your natural lashes, follow the full pre-application allergy protocol, bond a couple of classic extensions to each eye with our low-fume sensitive adhesive, and finish with our bond sealant — exactly as we would during a full set, just in miniature. Schedule it 48–72 hours before your full appointment so we can see how your eyes settle; most adhesive reactions show within that window. Open to anyone — past-reaction clients, sensitive eyes, or first-timers who simply want peace of mind.
Book your free patch test →Most clients who thought they couldn't wear lashes again leave with a full set — and are reaction-symptom free. The protocol works.

Prep
Before your appointment.
- Arrive with clean, makeup-free lashes — NO MASCARA (bottom or top), eyeliner (bottom or top), or eyeshadow. If you can, discontinue use of these products 24–48 hours prior to application.
- Avoid caffeine for 2 hours before your appointment to minimize eye flutter.
- If possible, avoid medications that cause eye twitching (e.g., Adderall) the day of your appointment.
- Plan to relax — appointments are 90 to 120 minutes.
- Use the restroom before we begin.
After your appointment.
- 24–48 hour rule: no water on lashes, no steam (no shower, hot yoga, sauna).
- Cleanse daily to every other day with a foam lash cleanser.
- Brush gently with a clean spoolie every morning and every evening.
- No rubbing your eyes.
- No sleeping on your face or side — sleep on your back.
- Use a silk pillowcase or a silk eyelash mask while sleeping.
- Avoid oils, serums, and moisturizers around your eyes and eyelids. Oils break apart the bonds of the adhesive and shorten your retention.

Questions,
Where's the best place for lash extensions in St. Petersburg?
If your lashes are sensitive, reactive, or damaged from past sets, The Bronze Lily is built for you. We're St. Pete's lash rehab specialists — we take on the natural lashes other studios have over-worked, using sensitivity-safe adhesives and health-first isolation so extensions support your natural lashes instead of stressing them. Classic, hybrid, volume, and mega sets from $120, plus lash lift + tint. Free patch test 48–72 hours before any new set.
How long does a lash extension appointment take?
A full set runs 90 to 120 minutes depending on style — Classic is the fastest at around 90 minutes, Volume & Hybrid sits around 100–120 minutes, and Mega Volume runs around 120 minutes. Fills are 60–90 minutes.
How long do lash extensions last between fills?
Most clients book a fill every 2 to 3 weeks. Mini fills are available only at the 6–7 day mark after a previous fill. If your fill window stretches past 3 weeks AND/OR your retention is below 40%, your artist may quote a partial set instead — we'll always confirm pricing with you before starting.
Are lash extensions safe? Will they damage my natural lashes?
Applied correctly — one extension to one isolated natural lash, with appropriate weight and proper adhesive — extensions are safe and will not damage the natural lash. Damage typically comes from poor isolation, fans that are too heavy for the natural lash, over-application of adhesive, or aggressive removal. Every artist at The Bronze Lily is trained directly under Larae's protocols, which prioritize natural lash health over speed or fullness.
How do you remove old extensions without damaging my natural lashes?
We do not use chemical lash remover at The Bronze Lily. It's a very harsh chemical and we don't believe in introducing it to the delicate eye area. Instead, every lash removal is done by hand using the banana peel method: one lash at a time, delicately, with precision, in the direction of natural lash growth. The goal is the opposite of speed — it's to protect the natural lash. It's the same technique we use during lash rehabilitation when we're correcting a previous artist's work. Lash removal as a standalone service is $25.
What if I've had an allergic reaction in the past?
We've built a proprietary allergy protocol specifically for clients who thought their lash days were over. It combines a low-fume sensitive adhesive, sensitive lash tape, slower application with bond sealant, and a pre- and post-appointment care plan customized to your reaction history. Most clients who book the protocol leave with a full set. Bring your reaction history to your consultation and we'll map a plan together.
Can I do a patch test before booking a full set?
Yes — we offer a complimentary 15-minute Patch Lash Extension Test. We cleanse your natural lashes, follow our full pre-application allergy protocol, then bond a couple of classic extensions to each eye with our low-fume sensitive adhesive and finish with bond sealant — exactly as we would during a full set, just in miniature. Book it 48 to 72 hours before your full appointment so we can see how your eyes settle; most adhesive reactions show within that window. It's free and open to anyone — clients with a past reaction, sensitive eyes, or first-timers who simply want peace of mind.
What products do you use during a lash lift?
Our lash lift system is built on Elleebana, the global standard for lash lifting. During the lift we combine our setting lotion with Elleeplex ReGEN Next-Gen Formula — a conditioning, moisture-boosting, hair-strengthening treatment that locks moisture into the hair shaft, relieves the hair stress of the curl, and eliminates the dryness that styling normally introduces. The result is a lift that's healthier for the natural lash — not just lifted, but conditioned. When you add the tint, we use Elleebana's Elleeplex Profusion Lash Tint system, which is also infused with ReGEN, so the tint nourishes while it colors.
Can I get extensions if I have lash damage from a previous tech?
Yes — and this is actually one of our specialties. Larae has eight years of successful rehabilitations. The protocol changes for damaged lashes: we move slower, remove what shouldn't be there (clumped, outgrown, stuck together, too heavy), and refill with lighter classic extensions or smaller fans applied only to your healthiest natural lashes. Recovery isn't rushed. Note: we never perform a lash lift on damaged lashes — it would only cause more damage.
Can I wear makeup with lash extensions?
Yes — but skip mascara (you don't need it), and avoid waterproof makeup or anything oil-based around the lash line. Oil breaks down the adhesive. If you wear eyeshadow, opt for powder over cream, and remove gently with an oil-free, foam lash cleanser. Q-tips with micellar water work well around the eye area.
Are lash extensions safe during pregnancy?
Yes. Our adhesives are low-fume and medical-grade, and the application itself is non-invasive. The most common pregnancy-related consideration is comfort — laying on your back for 90+ minutes can be tough later in pregnancy. We'll set you up with extra pillows and breaks. As always, check with your healthcare provider before starting any new beauty service.
How much do lash extensions cost?
Full sets — classic, hybrid, volume, and mega — start at $120, and a lash lift + tint is $100. Your exact price depends on the style and fullness you're after; your artist confirms it at booking. New to us? Ask about the free patch test, offered 48–72 hours before any new set.
What's the difference between classic, hybrid, volume, and mega lashes?
Classic is one extension per natural lash — a your-lashes-but-better look, ideal for naturally full lashes or first-timers. Hybrid blends classic and volume for a textured, wispy effect. Volume uses multiple ultra-fine fans per lash for softer, fuller density. Mega is our most dramatic — the most fans per lash for a bold, strip-lash look. Not sure which suits your eyes and natural lashes? We'll guide you at your appointment. All sets start at $120.
How should I prepare for my lash appointment?
A little prep makes your set apply cleaner and last longer:
- Come with clean, bare lashes — no makeup, and ideally no mascara or eyeliner (top or bottom) for 24–48 hours beforehand. Skip oils and serums around the eyes, too.
- Remove your contacts before your appointment.
- Go easy on stimulants — coffee, energy drinks, and stimulant medications (like Adderall) can make your eyes flutter, which makes precise lashing harder. Ease off the morning of if you can.
- Tell us if you've had a lash lift in the last three months.
- Come ready to relax. Wear comfy clothes, be ready to slip your shoes off on our lash bed, and bring headphones if you like. Fair warning: clients tell us our lash bed gives them the best sleep of their lives — better than at home — so consider this your permission to take the best lash nap ever.
How do I care for my lash extensions?
Great retention starts the moment you leave. We finish every set with a true bond sealant — an actual product we apply to lock the adhesive bonds on the spot (most artists still rely on the old nano-mister method), which is exactly why we ask you to keep your lashes completely dry for the first 24–48 hours: no water, steam, sweat, saunas, or hot yoga while the bonds fully cure. After that, a little daily care keeps them full and healthy:
- Brush them twice a day with the spoolie we send you home with — close your eye and gently roll the brush over the lashes a few times, then open and fan them up.
- Cleanse gently. Baby shampoo works, or the lid cleanser we recommend, OcuSoft Foaming Eyelid Cleanser. Never use cotton rounds or Q-tips — cotton fibers snag and pull both your extensions and your natural lashes.
- Keep oils and creams away from the eye area; they break down the adhesive bonds.
- No mascara — the question we get most, and the honest answer is simply no; a good set replaces it. Skip eyeliner where you can, especially bottom liner: as you blink, residue travels up to the lash line, and if it isn't cleaned off it builds at the base, suffocates the natural lash, and causes dry rot and early shedding.
- Hands off. Don't touch, pick, pull, or cut your extensions, and never use a lash curler on them. If something feels off, call us to remove it properly — (727) 218-7045.
- Sleep smart. Try not to sleep on your face; a silk pillowcase (cotton fibers snag) or a lash sleep mask helps keep your set full.
- Mind the heat. Lash extensions are flammable — keep your face back from ovens, grills, and hibachi. Singed lashes catch on the brush and have to be removed at your next fill.
Can I shower, swim, and work out with lash extensions?
Yes to all three — once you're past the first 24–48 hours. Our bond sealant gives your set extra strength for heavier activity, so you're set up for success. Just know the less water your lashes take on, the longer they'll last. A few habits protect your retention: skip high-pressure hot water straight on the lashes, and after a swim, resist rubbing your eyes — salt water and eye-rubbing are two of the fastest ways to shorten a set. To dry, use a cool blow-dryer on low or dab from underneath with a towel rather than smooshing the lashes flat, then brush them back into place.
How do you make lash extensions last longer?
Two things: what we do, and what you do. On our end, every set finishes with a true bond sealant — an actual product we apply to lock the adhesive bonds the moment your lashes are done, instead of the nano-mister most artists rely on. Sealing the bonds on the spot noticeably improves retention (we call it our retention product for good reason), and it's why 24–48 hours of keeping them dry is all it takes to set them. On your end, gentle daily care does the rest — brushing, gentle cleansing, and keeping oils away. Together, your set stays full through your entire natural lash cycle.
Why are my lash extensions falling out so fast?
Premature shedding almost always traces back to a few habits. Oils and creams near the eyes break down the adhesive bonds. Mascara and eyeliner — especially bottom liner — leave residue that builds at the lash base and, left uncleaned, can suffocate the natural lash and cause dry rot and early shedding. Touching, rubbing, or sleeping face-down pulls extensions loose; cotton pillowcases and cotton rounds snag them; and heat or flame can singe them. Keep them clean, dry for the first 24–48 hours, and brushed daily, and your set lasts through your natural lash cycle. Still shedding fast? Come see us — sometimes it's a natural-lash-health issue we can help with.
Can I wear mascara with lash extensions?
This is our most-asked lash question, and the answer is no — please skip mascara on your extensions. Even lash-safe formulas are hard to fully remove, and the residue builds at the lash base, breaks down the adhesive bonds, and shortens your set. The good news: a proper set gives you the mascara look without the mascara. Want extra drama for a night out? Ask us about a fuller or hybrid set instead.
Can lash extensions catch fire?
Yes — lash extensions are flammable, so it's worth knowing. Direct heat or open flame can singe them: opening a hot oven with your face right over it, leaning over a grill, or sitting front-row at a hibachi table. Singed lashes catch on your brush and have to be removed at your next fill. You don't need to avoid your kitchen — just keep your face back from direct waves of heat and flame and you'll be fine.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment to avoid a fee. Groups and bridal bookings may require longer notice.
- Less than 24 hrs before: 50% of service cost
- Less than 4 hrs before or no call/no show: 100% of service cost
All bookings require a card on file. Our system sends multiple email and text reminders. Once you're inside the 24-hour window, the system won't allow self-cancellation — please call or text (727) 218-7045. Voicemail + text is best if we don't answer.
Please never use Instagram, Facebook, or email to reschedule or cancel. Those channels are hard to track when we're fully booked and will not be considered notice. Card on file may still be charged. Phone call or text only.
Do you offer refunds?
Because our services are performed on you, they can't be returned once complete — so all services are non-refundable. Prepaid packages and session credits are likewise non-refundable and non-transferable, and are valid for one year from purchase. If anything about your visit isn't right, tell us before you leave and we'll make it right.
